In the Presence of Greatness

So by some fluke of nature (we’re still not sure how – maybe human intervention), the latest episode of Dear Toronto (a video podcast I co-producer with Ryan and Rebecca), Toronto Green Roof and Tree Tour ended up climbing to the #1 featured video on YouTube this week.
As a result we’ve been flooded with subscriber requests, comments (mostly inane, but hey) and we’re pretty damn surprised. It wasn’t until I checked out the featured videos tonight where I had a bit of a fanboy moment – as you can see on the left above next to our video – that’s freakin’ WEEZER with a video for a song off their new Red Album, Pork and Beans. Nice!
The funniest part about all of this is that we don’t even post our videos directly to YouTube – when we upload our stuff to Blip, it gets syndicated to a dozen or so other video services, one of which is YouTube. It’s really interesting to see certain channels getting more traction than others like this.

Congrats! It’s crazy how these Internets work.
Does Blip track viewers and subscribers across all the services it syndicates to?
I only hope this means more viewers for the show, and thus more shows.
Congrats in order. Very cool stuff Adam, it’s pretty amazing that you made it top slider.
