We're mere days away from one of the city's most anticipated artistic events of the year, and there's certainly no shortage of buzz going along with this year's Nuit Blanche. Dubbed the "free all-night contemporary art thing", the Parisian-inspired Nuit Blanche will go on this Saturday from 7:03pm to sunrise on Sunday. A Foggy Night for some Football Photography | (0)
I came home late Friday night to see the soccer field near my house completely lit up, and a thick layer of fog rolling over the grass. It was quite the surreal scene, for sure, and I'm happy how eerily the photos conveyed it.

Now in Print! Uncategorized | (0)
I got a call from one of my friends last week, all excited when he saw my name credited in 'Homework', a feature on real estate in Toronto in this month's fab magazine. I also contributed a photo to that piece as well as another feature on Leslieville. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't really excited to have my name in print. Up until now, my writing has been limited (though it feels wrong using that word) to the virtual world, so I'm hoping to take on other new and exciting opportunities like this down the road!

Commuters GO Mad at Rush Hour Chaos Uncategorized | (0)
If you hadn't heard it on the news already, there was mass crowding and chaos at Union Station as Toronto Police and GO officials faced the consequences of a nasty pedestrian fatality near Eglinton station earlier today. Trains beginning at around 4pm were delayed or canceled outright just as rush hour passengers poured into Union Station only to face red and yellow text across the departure screens. Many sighed and cursed as they knew they were in for long delays, and because this wasn't a first-time occurrence for many. In fact, it happens all too often both on GO Transit's lines ...

The Tracey Fragments Uncategorized | (0)
Today was likely my last of many films I caught at TIFF, The Tracey Fragments starring Ellen Page. The film tells the tale of Tracey Berkowitz, played by Page, a disturbed 15 year-old that goes through hell and back. The way in which it's presented to audience is the real brilliant part of this film. It's a technical masterpiece, with each scene shown broken many pieces, showing different perspectives, characters, and moments in time that really has to be seen to be believed (see sample above). Think 24's split-screen action/narrative sequences "on acid", as director McDonald was fond of mentioning before ...

This being my first year actually attending any films at TIFF, I'm really hyped about some I have seen and am scheduled to see in the coming week. Here's a synopsis of what I've seen so far, and what I have yet to see. Apple + Starbucks = Money Uncategorized | (1)
I'm watching some of the live feeds for today's Apple press event, and they've just announced (among other things) the iPod Touch, essentially an iPhone without the phone, shown above. I'll almost certainly be getting one immediately; It looks real slick. The biggest announcement to me though, is this new partnership between Apple and Starbucks that will let you buy tracks currently playing in Starbucks from the iTunes Store on your iPod.
